198. An Open Letter to Myself

Dear Kristina,

STOP MAKING EXCUSES for why you can’t do the things you want.  You keep calling them reasons, but they’re not.  They’re excuses.  If you want it badly enough you can make anything happen.  You know this.  Stop pretending like you don’t.  You tell people these things all the time, but you struggle to listen to them yourself.  Stop it right now.

Get your act together.  Decide what you want and really want it.  You know that’s the first step in making it happen.  Straighten your shit out, and live the life you want.  You deserve it.  You can have everything you want.  You can be successful, and you can love your life even more than you do now.  You just need to want it and work for it.

Here’s the other thing.  You can have everything you want, but you can’t have it all at the same time.  You can say yes to things without saying yes to everything.  It’s okay to say no sometimes; even to things you want to do.  The world isn’t going to end if you spend a night hanging out at home with Maxwell.  Sometimes you just need a break.  Running yourself into the ground and exhausting yourself isn’t going to help in the long run.

You are in charge of your life.  You can make it want you want it to be.  You can be happy and healthy and well rested.  You just need to get your priorities straight.  It’s time to clean up your act.
Want it and make it happen. Get it.
Love always,

  1. Hi – Not sure how I stumbled upon your blog. But I’m enjoying it. Although I’m 23 years older than you, I can really identify with a lot of your posts. I’m a closet foodie and started running last year.

We’ve run a lot of the same races including the Rock n’ Roll where I finished 1 minute behind you.

Just wanted to let you know you have lurkers!
